Distributed Forges

People that know me are very likely to know my stance on GitHub.com, GitLab.com or any other centralized software forges.

I have the strong believe that the future of developing open and free software must be done on open and free platforms that allow users and contributors to interact with the forge without requiring centralized data storage or identity management.

Today I came across a blog post that covers this well: Decentralized forge: distributing the means of digital production (archive.org)

It also links to a wide variety of other (tangential) topics that I can highly recommend to anyone interested in F/OSS and privacy.
